Trina has been involved in all aspects of ligation both initiating and defending claims on behalf of clients and is confident in attending and appearing in all jurisdictions, courts and tribunals. She has travelled extensively and is confident in determining and dealing with a range of issues, complexities and personalities involved in litigated and non-litigated matters.
Prior to joining Walker Hedges Forestville, Trina worked for an international insurance company, where she received extensive experience in professional indemnity, public liability and general insurance matters, including determining policy coverage and liability, conducting litigation, advising clients regarding remedies available under the Insurance Contracts Act, advising clients on aspect of their claims, and reviewing policies and wordings. During her time with the insurance company, Trina defended claims in professional indemnity and public liability in all states and jurisdictions of Australia and in New Zealand and she was also involved in dispute resolution of matters to achieve a timely and cost-effective result for both the clients and the company. In her role, Trina achieved a number of successful outcomes for her clients, the most notable being the defence of Dartberg Pty Ltd v Wealthcare Financial Planning Pty Ltd (No 2) [2009] FCA 1153, the decision of His Honour Middleton was handed down on 9 October 2009, in which His Honour held there was no liability on the part of her client and costs were awarded against the financial planner involved in the matter. Trina also achieved the highest-level of customer service and recognition of that feat in November 2011.
Trina was also involved in advising on employee share plans, option plans and structures for both private and public companies, within the legislative framework.
